Angel Reese was one of many people shocked by Joe Biden’s decision to drop out of the 2024 United States presidential election race.
There was a lot of pressure on Biden to withdraw and the POTUS finally caved in.
The 81-year-old leader then nominated Vice President Kamala Harris to represent the Democratic Party.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Reese asked her followers what was happening on Sunday, which would affect the upcoming election. Donald Trump of the Republican Party was the favorite to win following a failed assassination attempt last week.
“wait what’s going on rn….,” Reese wrote.
Angel Reese’s followers were quick to respond to her question and some were very witty with their answers. Others also used pickup lines to try and please the Chicago Sky star.
“Biden pulled a J Cole,” a fan wrote.
“Can you run for president? We’d all vote for you queen,” one fan replied.
“I’m running for President of your heart Angel,” another fan quipped.
Some Angel Reese fans were also excited at the prospect of Kamala Harris being nominated and becoming the first female president of the United States.
“A girl is about to run the world. A black one at that!!! LETS EFFING GO!!!” one fan opined.
“Girls about to rule!!!” another fan commented.
“Kamala Harris will be the next president!” a fan claimed.
Angel Reese has a history with Joe Biden’s wife
When Angel Reese led LSU to the 2023 NCAA Championship, Joe Biden’s wife and first lady Jill Biden suggested inviting runners-up Iowa to the White House with them.
Reese responded to it by saying that the Tigers won’t be accepting the invitation to meet the Bidens and called Jill’s suggestion a “joke.”
Jill eventually made a public apology and the POTUS eventually invited just the champions. Reese and LSU accepted the invite although they felt hurt initially following the first lady’s suggestion, as reported by Forbes.
“At the beginning, we were hurt. It was emotional for us because we know how hard we worked all year for everything and just being able to see that, that hurt us in the moment.
But just going back on it, you don’t get that experience ever so being able to go back, and I know my team probably wants to go for sure, and my coaches are supportive of that so I’m going to do what’s best for the team.
And if they would like to go and we decide we’re going to go, then we’re going to go,” Reese said.
LSU visited the White House in May of last year with Reese posing with Joe and Jill Biden, seemingly burying the hatchet.
