Mo’Nique Backs 50 Cent And Reveals How Oprah Is Still Ruining Her Life-be

Mo’Nique’s Revelations: Unveiling the Turbulent Feud with Oprah Winfrey

In a recent interview on Shannon Sharp’s podcast, Club Shay, Mo’Nique reignited her longstanding feud with media mogul Oprah Winfrey, shedding light on the events that led to the rift between them. The saga traces back to 2009 during the press tour and Oscar campaign for the film “Precious,” in which Mo’Nique delivered an Oscar-winning performance.

Mo’Nique revealed that Oprah, along with Tyler Perry and Lee Daniels, suggested she attend the Cannes Film Festival to support the movie. However, Mo’Nique, prioritizing family time, declined the offer, leading to her being labeled as difficult to work with, particularly detrimental for Black women in Hollywood.

The situation escalated when Mo’Nique disclosed that she was paid only $50,000 for her award-winning role in “Precious” and faced steep travel costs for promotional events. Despite her Oscar win opening doors theoretically, Mo’Nique found herself shut out of the industry, attributing it to Oprah’s influence.

Mo’Nique’s career took a nosedive as she felt blackballed by Hollywood, with roles drying up and job offers vanishing. She recounted a shocking phone call from Lee Daniels, who informed her that she had been blackballed for not conforming to Hollywood norms, tarnishing her relationship with industry bigwigs.

Despite Oprah’s acknowledgment of Mo’Nique’s authenticity, the rift between them deepened when Oprah invited Mo’Nique’s estranged brother Gerald onto her show without Mo’Nique’s consent. Feeling betrayed, Mo’Nique expressed her disappointment, emphasizing that she would have opposed the decision if given the chance.

Mo’Nique’s revelations shed light on the complexities of relationships in the entertainment industry, where loyalty and trust can easily be shattered. The feud underscores broader issues of power dynamics and manipulation, particularly concerning Black artists navigating an industry fraught with systemic challenges.

As Mo’Nique continues to speak out against what she perceives as injustices, her story serves as a reminder of the importance of authenticity and standing firm in one’s convictions, even in the face of powerful adversaries like Oprah Winfrey.
