Hurricane Beryl made her way into Texas after leaving devastation in her wake, having ravaged the Caribbean last week.

The weather system has entered Houston, with the Texans’ NRG Stadium among the structures to sustain damage.

A video from KHOU 11 News showed that the NFL Stadium’s retractable roof had taken some damage.

The Texans’ home ground has shown visible signs of wear and tear before, with water seen leaking through the roof before the College Football National Championship Game between Michigan and Washington in January. Fortunately, it had no impact on the game.

Damaged NFL Stadium Is The least Of Houston’s Worries Right Now

As for Beryl, the hurricane has left the Houston area worse for wear. Over three million people were without power as of late Monday.

PowerOutage.us noted that more than two million people in the state of Texas were still without power as of Tuesday afternoon.

“The now-tropical storm flooded roadways and knocked down trees, triggering major power outages across Harris County,” KHOU 11 News reported. “More than 3 million CenterPoint, Entergy, and Texas New Mexico Power customers were without power Monday.”

As if that weren’t bad enough, the city is experiencing extreme heat, making the cleanup efforts even more challenging.

“The heat index in Houston passed 100 degrees on Tuesday,” CNN reported.

“Both Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Hobby International Airport reported a heat index of 103 degrees by early Tuesday afternoon. Air temperatures in the region will climb into the 90s through at least early next week.”
