After departing from Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade in the EuroLeague, Tristan Vukcevic has been having a successful debut in the NBA for the Washington Wizards. The player is now thinking of playing for Greece.

The Wizards unexpectedly beat the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night. After the game, Milwaukee’s superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo revealed he had a brief conversation with Vukcevic after the game.

“He came out to me and said he was Greek. I was kind of surprised that he was speaking Greek to me,” Giannis began after the game.

“I had a conversation with him, he played in Greece for a couple of years. He’s thinking of joining the national team,” Antetokounmpo revealed. “It would be a very good addition for us. Played hard tonight. A guy who can make a three, take on guys off the juke. Had a lot of experience, he played a little bit in Greece and then in Partizan, too. A guy that can definitely help the Wizards and definitely help the Greek team, too.”

Born in a Serbian-Swedish family, Vukcevic holds a multitude of nationalities – Greek, Serbian, Italian, and Swedish. He would also be eligible to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina or Spain.

Vukcevic finished the game with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists on 5-for-11 shooting. He has played in 6 NBA games so far, averaging 3.8 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. The 31 minutes against the Bucks was the most he’s played so far, with the previous best being 13 minutes against the Miami Heat on March 31st.
