The players express their opinions and discuss the everyday events in the NBA world. James surprised his fans with the first episode of his podcast ‘Mind the Game.’
The Los Angeles Lakers forward is known for his basketball IQ among NBA fans. Therefore naturally fans were excited to get a peek at the star’s views about basketball and the NBA. Despite this, the fans were still surprised by LeBron James‘ decision to start the podcast. However, the first episode was a success as the podcast received a lot of love from NBA netizens.
After the Lakers win on Sunday, in the post-game interview LeBron James was asked about the reason behind starting the podcast with JJ Redick. According to the 39-year-old, the intention was to bring back the essence of the game and what it means. The star also mentioned being frustrated by the comparisons about the player’s legacy.

Further James addressed the discussions about comparisons between different eras of basketball. According to the athlete, these conversations are not healthy for young viewers of the game. James believed that the audience needed a different approach leaving the talks about comparisons out. The forward intends to explain his love for the game with Reddick who he believes to share a similar mindset.

The ‘Mind the Game’ podcast hosted by LeBron James and JJ Redick is all about basketball and everything around it. As the news of the announcement came, fans were excited to hear their favorite player.
Before the first episode of the podcast was released, Redick talked about the intentions behind the start of this new chapter. The former player said that the intended conversations would be of pure basketball. The podcast does not have an advertising sponsor yet. And the duo aims to continue to do so.
