Basketball fans remember the iconic photo of Miami Heat player LeBron James dunking on a Dwyane Wade pass. Yesterday, James again dunked from a pass from Jaxson Hayes. Only for Los Angeles Lakers teammate D’Angelo Russell to recreate the same pose with his outstretched arms. Fans react to this recreation.

With 9 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter, D’Angelo Russell lobbed a pass to a streaking Jaxson Hayes. With defenses locked in on Hayes, LeBron James ran toward the rim. Consequently, Hayes passed the ball to James, and the 39-year-old took off for a two-handed monster dunk. Russell, who was slightly ahead of his Los Angeles Lakers superstar teammate, kept going forward and stretched his arms out wide as James threw down the dunk.

This event was captured and became a solid recreation of the collaboration between Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. In that situation, Miami Heat superstar Wade sent a bounce pass behind to a streaking James. The 4-time champion emphatically took off for a one-handed poster slam.

This situation might differ in a few aspects. However, the fact that Russell could recreate it speaks volumes of their appreciation of their all-time great teammate. Nevertheless, Russell’s timing was impeccable. If he was a little too early or late, the shot to capture the iconic dunk would not have become perfect.

Fans love D’Angelo Russell’s attempt at recreating iconic LeBron James moment

The angle at which the cameraman captured the recreation makes it a photograph for the ages. The picture of LeBron James just finishing his two-handed tomahawk jam as Russell stretched his arms wide has especially gone viral. So much so that basketball fans are constantly reposting and sharing with each other. Soon after, they even jumped on social media to appreciate Russell’s efforts.

Some comments were flat-out appreciative, as others were harking back to the older one for comparison. Check out some of those comments below;
