Angel Reese has revealed her main drive behind wanting to become a professional basketball player, as she told a young fan that she hopes to inspire others like her.
The 22-year-old WNBA star, of the Chicago Sky, was interacting with reporters on the sidelines of the Atlanta Dream’s home court before Chicago’s 85-77 win, when a little girl asked her: ‘What motivates you?’
Reese replied: ‘Girls like you… little girls that look up to me.
‘Being able to wake up every day and know that little eyes are watching me. I hope one day you can do what I’m doing. I know you’re wearing my shirt but just being able hands on with you if you ever need anything and just being there for you guys.
‘Being a good example.’
Angel Reese is just a game shy from Candance Parker’s record of 12 straight double doubles
An absolutely adorable Angel Reese fan came up to her during availability and asked her “What motivates you?”.

Coming off her 11th straight double-double performance against the Dream in which she had 12 points and 19 rebounds, Reese cried when she found out that she earned her first All-Star team selection postgame.
‘They just told me I’m an All-Star. I’m just so happy,’ an emotional Reese said.
‘I know the work I’ve put in. Coming into this league so many people doubted me and didn’t think my game would translate and I wouldn’t be the player I was in college, or better, or would be worse, or wouldn’t be where I am right now.
‘But I trust the process and I’m thankful I dropped to No. 7 (pick in the draft) and was able to come to Chicago.’
Joining Reese on the WNBA All-Star team is fellow rookie sensation and nemesis Caitlin Clark, of the Indiana Fever.
The 22-year-old Sky forward teared up after learning that she earned her first All-Star selection
DeWanna Bonner and Brionna Jones of the Connecticut Sun, Allisha Gray of Atlanta, Dearica Hamby of the LA Sparks, Jonquel Jones of the New York Liberty, Kayla McBride of the Minnesota Lynx, Kelsey Mitchell of Indiana, Nneka Ogwumike of the Seattle Storm and Arike Ogunbowale of the Dallas Wing have also all been selected.
The WNBA All-Star team will face the US Olympic Squad, which neither Reese or Clark is a part of, on July 20th.
Meanwhile, Reese is just a one game shy from matching Candace Parker’s WNBA record of 12 straight games with a double double.
The Sky face the Seattle Storm next on July 5th.
