The Lakers have also had their struggles during the Summer League

BRONNY James has had a rough go of things during the Summer League – and his latest lowlight has caused fans to worry for the rookie.

Bronny, born LeBron Raymone James Jr., played his fourth game of Summer League action on Monday night as the Lakers lost to the Celtics 88-74.

The 19-year-old didn’t fare well in the contest, scoring just two points on 1-of-5 shooting, three rebounds, one assist, two turnovers, and three fouls.

social media clip of Bronny during the game went viral as the 2024 second-round pick also air-balled a three-point shot as the clock expired.

Fans rushed to X to share their concern for the USC product.

“I genuinely feel sorry for Bronny. this is BAD,” one commented.

“He’s gotta be nervous,” another wrote.

“It’ll get better from here,” a third stated.

But in his four Summer League games, Bronny is 7-of-31 from the field and 0-of-15 from the three-point line.

Still, the Lakers Summer League coach Dane Johnson believes that Bronny is simply experiencing the growing pains of being a rookie.

“He’s going to have a long career,” he told ESPN.

“This is just the beginning.

“We just have to keep instilling confidence in them, keep it in their heads.

“So we still have a long way to go.”

Los Angeles head coach JJ Redick did share his approval of Bronny’s defensive play while speaking to reporters.

“He’s been fantastic so far,” he said to ESPN.

“We want him to press the ball. I told him yesterday, ‘If you get outrebounded, if you commit 10 fouls, it’s my fault, but I want you to pressure the ball.'”

The Lakers have lost their last five games.

Los Angeles rookie Dalton Knecht scored 19 points in their last contest.

The Lakers will play the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night.
