Steph’s wife reveals alarming stats about childhood nutrition

NBA great Steph Curry is joining forces with former First Lady Michelle Obama in a venture to help tackle childhood obesity.

Mrs. Obama, the wife of former President Barack Obama, has long been well known for her commitment to boost health and wellness.

And she has co-founded PLEZi Nutrition, a company that aims to improve standards for the production and marketing of children’s food across the United States.

It’s obviously a mission that inspires Steph Curry and his wife, the distinguished chef and author Ayesha Curry.

“We’re so excited to welcome Stephen and Ayesha Curry to the PLEZi Nutrition family,” Mrs. Obama said.

“They are true role models. They’re extraordinary at what they do and how they go about their work – with creativity, integrity, and a whole lot of fun.

Steph Curry has established himself as an all-time NBA great in a quite brilliant career.

He has been with the Golden State Warriors for all his 15 years in the league.

The superstar has four times helped the Warriors to win the NBA title.

Steph spoke to Forbes about his main reasons for joining forces with PLEZi.

“As a father and professional athlete, I know how impactful good nutrition can be, on and off the court,” he said.

“PLEZi Nutrition’s commitment to making nutrition accessible and fun really resonates with me.”

Ayesha also spoke about why she’d like an improvement in standards in nutrition.

“We were floored by the stats. Kids are consuming way too much added sugar – on average, 53 pounds of added sugar per year,” she said.

“Kids deserve better, and we wanted to be a part of that positive change.

What the new TV deal means for the NBA?

THE new TV rights deal is promising to be a humongous win for NBA players.

The league is set to more than double the revenue coming from its media partners, pocketing about $6.9 billion per year, which will inevitably lead to a huge salary cap spike in 2025-26.

That is going to send the value of player contracts skyrocketing.

Projected figures suggest we might see the first $100 million-per-year deal being signed soon.

Currently, Boston Celtics All-Star Jayson Tatum is projected to earn the highest single-season salary in NBA history, collecting $71.5 million in 2029-30.

It does feel like basketball fans would be on the losing side of the fight if the NBA and TNT indeed parted ways, though.

Inside the NBA is a one-of-a-kind sports entertainment show, as evidenced by ESPN’s ongoing failure to come up with its own version of the program in recent years.

The NBA won’t be the same without Kenny and Ernie trying to make sense of Shaq and Chuck’s never-ending bickering every Tuesday night.

“But ultimately getting kids excited about a healthier option is always going to come down to taste, and that’s what sealed it for us in supporting PLEZi.

“It really hits the sweet spot for our family, no pun intended – our kids really love it, so it was an easy choice.”

Steph and Ayesha welcomed a fourth child earlier this year.

The couple revealed their newly-born son’s name is Caius Chai.

“He’s doing great and we are finally settling in at home as a family of 6! So grateful!” they said.
