Michael Jordan, the basketball legend known as the GOAT (Greatest of All Time), is famous not only for his on-court prowess but also for his role as a father.

However, not everyone knows why his two sons, Jeffrey and Marcus Jordan, couldn’t follow in their father’s footsteps to reach the NBA.

One of the main reasons is height. Jeffrey stands at 6 feet 1 inch, and Marcus at 6 feet 3 inches, while Michael Jordan towers at 6 feet 6 inches.

This height difference is not ideal in the highly competitive environment of the NBA. Additionally, their athletic abilities didn’t measure up to their father’s. Jeffrey averaged just 1.2 points per game at the collegiate level, while Marcus averaged 12.3 points per game. (kf)

The pressure from society and their father’s fame was also a significant factor. In his 2009 Hall of Fame speech, Michael Jordan acknowledged the immense expectations his children faced. However, he never pressured them to pursue basketball, instead encouraging them to live the lives they desired.

Today, Jeffrey works in the digital innovation department of the family brand and co-founded a consulting firm. Marcus graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in hospitality management and runs an online footwear business.

Michael Jordan also supports his children’s personal lives, including Marcus’s relationship with Larsa Pippen, the ex-wife of his former teammate Scottie Pippen.
