Jerry Rice was playing through his practice round at the American Century Championship at Lake Tahoe when things turned south.

The NFL Hall of Famer and San Francisco 49ers legend got so ticked off with two reporters that he actually threatened them.

The whole incident was caught on video.

Reports indicate that the two reporters asked Jerry Rice a question about the Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver core, per TMZ Sports.

It’s not clear if, or anything else was said in the question. But Rice was certainly not pleased.

After initially walking away, the NFL HOFer turned back and told one reporter “I will f*** you up!”

Michael J. Babcock of TMZ claims that Jerry Rice believed the two reporters were “mocking him.”

Rice also reportedly stated that he is “going to defend the San Francisco 49ers.”

Just an absolutely bizarre situation. It’s not like Jerry Rice to go berserk on people like that.

For whatever reason, the 49ers legend seemed willing to throw hands over an alleged question about the Chiefs.

Just a weird scenario overall.

Luckily, the incident didn’t expand beyond Rice yelling at the two Kansas City-based reporters.

It could have gotten ugly quickly but Jerry Rice simply walked away after letting them know how he felt.

It’ll be interesting to see if the former 49ers wide receiver opens up more about what happened at the American Century Championship.

Reports already claim he doesn’t plan on apologizing. So, maybe he can at least provide more details in the near future.

Jerry Rice is highly regarded as one of the best wide receivers to ever play the game.

He holds numerous career records and won three Super Bowl rings with the 49ers.

Rice ended his career accumulating an impressive 1,549 receptions, 22,895 receiving yards, and 197 touchdowns through the air.
